  • The LifeTRAVELED APT program includes:

    • a pre-screened internship or traineeship that will be secured prior to arrival.

    • DS-2019 paperwork processing required for your J-1 Visa. LifeTRAVELED is a designated sponsor for the BridgeUSA Intern and Trainee programs.

    • DS-7002 Training Plan development to ensure that you gain the most valuable experience for your career.

    • housing assistance (host employer provided housing, LifeTRAVELED referred housing, or self-housing verification).

    • participant pre-arrival and post-arrival information to prepare for the program.

    • health/travel insurance that exceeds Department of State requirements.

    • a coordinator to assist you throughout the entire program.

  • Intern Program:

    • You must be a foreign national who has verifiable English language skills sufficient to function in their internship environment.

    — You must also meet one of the two criteria below:

    • is currently enrolled and pursuing studies at a degree or certificate granting post-secondary academic institution.

    OR has graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to the internship program start date.

    Trainee Program:

    • You must be a foreign national who has verifiable English language skills sufficient to function in their training environment. For this program, that usually means that you should have upper intermediate to advanced English knowledge.

    — You must also meets one of the two criteria below:

    • has earned a degree or professional certificate from a post-secondary academic institution outside the United States and gained at least one year of related work experience outside the United States in their occupational field.

    OR has five years of work experience outside the United States in their occupational field.

    TO RETURN TO THE USA FOR AN ADDITIONAL INTERN OR TRAINEE PROGRAM

    There is no limit on the number of times an individual can participate, as long as they meet the eligibility requirements of the program. To re-enter the Intern program, your new training plan must show how it will provide you with skill advancements beyond the skills you acquired on your first program or with skills in a different field of expertise yet still related to your occupational field. To return on the Intern program, you must maintain student status or begin a new program within 12 months of graduation.

    Those who are no longer eligible for the Intern program may participate in a Trainee program after two years of residency outside the US following their Intern program. Previous participants of a Trainee program may return after two years of residency outside the US following their initial program.
